What does EDN stand for?
EDN is a network of dance development organisations in Europe, cooperating for a sustainable, progressive, and equitable field of contemporary dance.
The network serves as a hub, a mediator and an international connector. It supports the sector’s professional development and raises awareness about what dance can do in our societies today.
As the EU network for dance, EDN represents the sector and advocates on its behalf.
We co-create occasions for sharing and exchange
EDN organises networking events, conferences, forums and sector consultations. These online and onsite events connect initiatives and form alliances between sector stakeholders.
EDN facilitates a capacity-building programme for organisations, artists, and other dance development professionals.
Ateliers and the Staff Exchange are organised and hosted by the EDN member organisations to share knowledge, connect initiatives, co-research, pilot and innovate.
We build relationships
Forming international project partnerships is one of EDN’s key areas of work.
Next to its flagship network project, EDN is a partner in Perform Europe, an innovative funding scheme supporting inclusive, diverse and green distribution and touring of performing arts in the Creative Europe countries.
EDN members cooperate in some of the most timely and relevant dance development projects today.
We collect knowledge
EDN collects evidence from the field to inform policy work and the development of the EU funding programmes.
The network produces research and publications to articulate the specific context of dance within the broader ecosystem of performing arts.
In coalition with other EU-funded networks, EDN contributes to sector dialogues and policy briefings on behalf of the dance sector in Europe.
