30 November - 2 December 2026
hosted by Le Gymnase CDCN
What does dance hold for children and young people?
This Atelier invites artistic teams, cultural organisations, and institutional partners to engage in a collective reflection on how dance can involve young people in an active cultural experience.
Through a cross-border exchange of perspectives, participants will explore how dance can deepen young people's engagement in cultural life and what new civic possibilities it opens.
The Atelier approaches this topic through two complementary lenses:
Combining expert talks, project presentations, artistic perspectives, and shared reflection, the Atelier is developed in close connection with BIG, the International Production and Dissemination Hub for Dance for Young Audiences led by Le Gymnase.
Programme
The full programme will be shared ahead of the event. The Atelier takes place during the Forever Young international festival dedicated to dance for young audiences (12 November – 13 December 2026), led by Le Gymnase in Roubaix. Participants are encouraged to engage with both festivals' programming alongside the Atelier.
This Atelier is proposed by the EDN YOUNG Working Group, which brings together EDN members, partners, and experts to develop community-engaged approaches that strengthen young people's cultural participation across Europe.
