(Non)Aligned Movements is designed to boost the creative and collaborative potential of contemporary dance in the Western Balkans. It reinforces the social impact of Balkan contemporary dance by raising its capacities for action and collaboration, by promoting its heritage and by inscribing it in future discourses and cultural practices.
Open Balkan Dance Archives
The project provides a frame for sharing the experiences of self-organisation, horizontal structure, balance and openness for all like-minded dance and performing arts actors.
NADA - (Non)Aligned Dance Archive introduces contemporary dance as an important element of cultural heritage in the region. The project has reinforced the network of residency programmes in the region to enable mobility of dance professionals and better connect the regional dance festivals.
Non-Privileged Communities
NAM pays particular attention to the underprivileged communities within the Balkan contemporary dance scene by prioritising women, LGBTQI+ and body-diverse artists, practices and experiences.
Project Partners
NAM is coordinated by Station Service for Contemporary Dance from Belgrade, Lokomotiva Center for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture from Skopje, Nomad Dance Academy Slovenia from Ljubljana, Nomad Dance Academy Croatia and Objekt Plesa from Zagreb, and Tanzfabrik from Berlin, with support from the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
