Organized by: Centro per la Scena Contemporanea and EDN
The EDN Atelier will start on 25th August 2018 early morning with a session of work led by Peggy Olislaegers, and open to the wider public . It will focus on the theme ‘shifting from Audience to Citizens-impact on the practices and initiatives of the dancehouses’ and will include a physical dance practice, a round table discussion (with dance artists and professionals active in the engagement of citizens in dance in different contexts and territories), a working session in smaller groups on the topic of the day.
During the afternoon Betsy Gregory will accompany the Atelier’s Participants to attend dance initiatives and encounter citizens involved as spectators or performers. The Participants will then be invited to share how the content of the Atelier may inform their individual practice and initiatives of contemporary dance held at their dancehouses. The Atelier will continue with the Bmotion evening programme of dance performances.
On 26th August a morning session open to the general public and focusing on the topic: ‘Development of long term relationships and trust, with citizens, towards contemporary dance initiatives/proposals of the dancehouses’ will be led by Monica Gillette. The morning programme will include a dance physical practice, a round table discussion with artists and international guests, and a group working session focusing on the topic of the day.
Betsy Gregory will accompany the Atelier’s Participants to dance events, evening performances of the B motion programme, and facilitate more exchanges of practices and ideas during the afternoon.
