Dance brings back the joy of movement

Dance for Health has launched the campaign May I have this dance? to show that dancing brings back the joy of simply moviment to those people with chronic movement restrictions. Coinciding with the World Parkingson Day on 11 April, they invite all the people to be dancers in the famous Swan Lake ballet by sending a video of their own version of the piece.

Around 10 million people around the world are suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Dancing is a great way to feel strong and free again, if only for a moment.”Change people’s life through movement” is the motto of the project Dance for Health, founded by Marc Vlemmix -former Artistic Director of Danshuis Station Zuid in Tilburg, and diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2010- and ballet master Andrew Greenwood. The Foundation works to improve the quality of life of people with chronic movement restrictions.
